DESCRIPTION:  \nThe program is up to YOU!\n\n\nWe want you to be a part of our very special 15th anniversary Closing Gala on July 17\, 2025. We have a fantastic roster of performers all waiting for you to decide what they will play!\n\nE-mail us with what you’d like to hear played at the Closing Celebration of the Festival and tell us why you’ve picked it. We’re looking for the stories behind why you love this piece of music.\n\nThe concert will be held on July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre. If your music and story is selected for this concert\, you will win ten tickets to invite friends and family. There will also be one Grand Prize Winner who will win two passes to the 2026 Music and Beyond festival.\n\nRules to enter:\nPlease suggest a piece of music for us to include and why you would like to hear it. It can be for one player or many players\, including for orchestra or for choir. If your piece is chosen\, we will try to find the instrument(s) or voice type you have requested.\n\nPlease send your suggestion to info@musicandbeyond.ca no later than May 31st at 11:59 pm\n\n\n\n  \nLe programme dépend de VOUS !\n\nLe 17 juillet 2025\, nous vous invitons à participer à notre très spécial concert de clôture du 15e anniversaire. Nous avons une liste fantastique d’artistes qui n’attendent que vous pour décider de ce qu’ils joueront !\n\nEnvoyez-nous un courriel expliquant quel morceau vous aimeriez entendre jouer lors de la clôture du festival et dites-nous pourquoi vous l’avez choisi. Nous voulons connaître les raisons pour lesquelles vous aimez ce morceau de musique.\n\nLe concert aura lieu le 17 juillet à 19 h 30 au Centre Carleton Dominion-Chalmers. Si votre musique et votre récit sont sélectionnés pour ce concert\, vous gagnerez dix billets vous permettant d’inviter vos amis et votre famille. It can inspire us forward\, or it can hold us back. Music’s power has been the subject of wonder and speculation for millenia. Its ability to influence people has been both lauded and derided. Music has been called both divine and diabolical. In Without a Song\, Chanticleer explores music’s power throughout the ages. Repertoire includes Medieval and Renaissance motets by Guillaume de Machaut and Orlando di Lasso\, a new work by the GRAMMY-nominated composer Ayanna Woods\, and a new version of the jazz standard “Without a Song\,” arranged for us by Stacey Gibbs. \n— \nThe GRAMMY® Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer has been hailed as “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker\, and is known around the world as “an orchestra of voices” for its wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling virtuosity.  Founded in San Francisco in 1978 by singer and musicologist Louis Botto\, Chanticleer quickly took its place as one of the most prolific recording and touring ensembles in the world\, selling over one million recordings and performing thousands of live concerts to audiences around the world. \n“The world’s reigning male chorus.” (The New Yorker) \n  \nWithout a Song \nLa musique peut nous transporter vers des destinations inconnues. Elle peut nous pousser à aller de l’avant ou\, au contraire\, nous retenir. Depuis des millénaires\, le pouvoir de la musique suscite l’émerveillement et éveille l’imagination.
